Twenty six people have been arrested under the Terrorism Act at a pro-Palestine demonstration outside Lancaster Castle.

Campaign group Defend Our Juries - Lift the Ban on Palestine Action held a protest on Saturday afternoon, which was part of organised demonstrations in 10 locations across the country including Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham.

Lancashire Police said "some of those present displayed material in support of Palestine Action", which was proscribed under the Terrorism Act 2000 in July.

The force said 16 women and 10 men were arrested on suspicion of supporting a proscribed organisation under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
