Emergency work is being carried out to repair a number of small gas leaks in a Wiltshire town.

Wales & West Utilities said it is upgrading pipes in central Trowbridge, with the work set to be completed by 4 November.

Stallard Street will be closed at its junction with Station Approach while the repairs are carried out.

Wales & West Utilities' Alan Bickerstaff said: "We know that working in areas like this is not ideal, but it really is essential to make sure we keep the gas flowing to homes and businesses.

"We’ll have a team of gas engineers on site throughout to make sure our work is completed as safely and as quickly as possible while keeping disruption to a minimum."
