Historic town hall decorated as scaffolding comes down

A Grade II listed town hall is at the decoration stage of its refurbishment after the "major milestone" of scaffolding coming down earlier in the summer.
Trowbridge Town Hall was built in 1887 and is being restored to continue use as a community and arts venue, but with improved facilities.
The work is part of a £16m project for the town, with the money awarded to Wiltshire Council from the government's Future High Streets Fund.

The stained glass, stonework and pipework have been done, while decorating, electrics and plaster repair is now underway.
A new lift and acoustic panelling for the Great Hall area part of the renovations.
The area where cells used to be will also turn into recording studio space in future for local people to use for music and podcasts.
They will be subsidised to use with an aim to encourage more young people to gain experience.
There will also be a café bar with spaces for a wide range of community activities.
