The partial closure of the A40 in Herefordshire will remain through the weekend following last week's landslip.

The incident on the eastbound carriageway happened between the A466 in Monmouth and A49 in Wilton on 9 February.

The westbound carriageway re-opened the following day, but the eastbound side is expected to remain closed until at least Sunday, according to National Highways.

During the closure, essential land surveys are being undertaken in the vicinity to ensure the road is safe to re-open again.

Road users have been advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol on road signs.

The diversion is not suitable for high-sided or heavy goods vehicles.
