Fixed penalty fines for traffic and motoring offences in Guernsey have risen by £25, after the States approved an increase on Thursday.

The rise, which came into force on Friday, applies to all levels of fine and represents an increase of between 25% and 62.5%.

Band A tickets, which are usually issued for parking longer than the allowed time, will rise from £40 to £65.

Band B tickets will rise from £70 to £95 and band C tickets will rise from £100 to £125.

A £10 reduction for early payments remains and applies to all bands.
