Delayed Santa run returns to park in January

Almost 300 Santas attended the fundraiser in 2023

Christmas may be over but a charity in Wolverhampton is reviving the festive spirit throughout January.

As well as lacing up their trainers, those taking part will be putting on their beards and red suits as they head to West Park for a Santa Run.

Beacon Centre for the Blind is hosting the run on 26 January after its original December event was cancelled due to high winds from Storm Darragh.

"We can't wait to see West Park transformed into a sea of Santas, yes, even in January," the charity said.

Funds raised will go towards supporting people living with sight loss in the Black Country and Staffordshire.

The charity's previous event in 2023 saw almost 300 people supporting the cause.

Dogs who took part were given a little wooden medal and children received a Santa hat.
