A governing body says it hopes to grow a sport in Jersey after being given grant funding.
Jersey Softball Association (JSA) said it had received £8,840 from the Jersey Community Foundation with funds from the Channel Islands Lottery to help develop the sport.
The governing body said the money would be used across several areas including youth development and hosting umpire training courses along with helping cover other running costs the sport has.
Robin Tadier, JSA's president of the association, said it was amazing to get the funding and it would make "such a difference" for the sport.
"The impact this support will have on our ability to build the sport and increase participation locally is enormous and we're incredibly grateful," Mr Tadier added.
