Ex-police officer charged with rape and kidnapping

Paul Brown appeared before Northampton Magistrates' Court charged with rape and kidnapping

A former police officer has appeared in court charged with rape and of kidnapping a woman.

Paul Brown, of Storksbill Road in Corby, is accused of rape between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2024, and of committing the kidnap offence last week.

Mr Brown previously served with both Northamptonshire Police and the Metropolitan Police Service.

He was remanded in custody at Northampton Magistrates' Court on Monday and is due to appear again at the town's crown court on 19 May.

Northamptonshire Police said the defendant was also charged with one count of stalking and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour.
