Police are appealing for information about a young boy who was spotted cycling alone with no helmet on a main road in Dundee.
BBC News understands the boy, aged between four and six, had been cycling for a considerable distance near traffic when a number of people reported the matter to police at about 15:20 on Saturday.
He was seen around Kings Cross Road and the Kingsway Retail Park, but when officers went to the scene he was no longer there.
The boy is described as wearing a white jumper, shorts and purple trainers with short blonde hair and was riding a very distinctive lime green BMX style bike.
Police Scotland has released a CCTV image of the boy's bicycle in the hope that someone who knows him will come forward.
Insp Alan Baird said: "We want to make sure the boy is ok and is with his carers. If anyone recognises the description of the boy and knows who he is, please contact police.
"Also if the guardians of the boy see this and can confirm he is safe and well, please get in touch."
Anyone with information has been urged to contact Police Scotland's non-emergency line., external
