A DIY store which temporarily closed after a group of travellers set up an illegal encampment is now open.

The group, who set up the unauthorised encampment in the car park of B&Q on Lysander Road in Patchway on the outskirts of Bristol on Tuesday, left on Wednesday evening.

Avon and Somerset Police said its officers had been to the scene and that bailiffs for the landowner served notice for the travellers to leave.

A spokesperson from B&Q confirmed that the group moved their encampment at 20:00 BST on Wednesday and the store reopened on Thursday morning.
