Man critically ill after assault outside pub

Police were called to Horsefair in the early hours on Monday

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being assaulted outside a pub, West Yorkshire Police said.
Officers were called by the ambulance service at about 01:15 BST, to a report a man had been seriously assaulted in Horsefair, in Pontefract.
A police spokesperson said the man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, while a 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.
