A motorcyclist who died in a crash in Herefordshire was dedicated to making the world just a little bit brighter, his family have said in tribute.

Married father-of-four and grandfather-of-six Jimmy Aspinall, 72, from north-east Wales, was involved in a collision with a car on the A465 near to Allensmore on Saturday.

Mr Aspinall, who co-founded a motorbike club called Whistlestop MCC with his close friends, left this world doing what he loved, his relatives said.

West Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses to the crash, between his BMW motorbike and a Citroen C3, in which the car driver, a woman in her sixties, was also seriously injured.

"It's a small comfort to know that in his final moments, he was in his element, embracing the freedom of the open road," said his family.

Mr Aspinall, a roofer for more than 40 years, was described as a familiar face across North Wales, known for his hard work, honesty and willingness to help anyone in need.

"He never took life too seriously - instead, he lived it fully, warmly, and with a heart open to everyone. His joy was infectious, his spirit unstoppable," his family said.

The 72-year-old started DJing aged 16, and hosted "countless" Northern Soul nights.

"Jimmy touched so many lives, through kindness, humour, generosity, and his unwavering dedication to making the world just a little bit brighter," said his family.
