A man has been arrested after two people were injured with a weapon near Bradford College.

Police were called to Great Horton Road at about 09:20 BST on Thursday, following reports of a man carrying what appeared to be a knife. He was detained by college security staff until officers arrived.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of assaulting two members of the public and two emergency workers. He was also arrested for a racially-aggravated public order offence and causing damage to a police vehicle.

The two members of the public were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries and a small gardening tool was seized at the scene, West Yorkshire Police said.
