Woman dies after van hits pedestrian

A woman has died after she was hit by a van while walking across the road in Rotherham.
The 28-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead after a collision with a grey Mercedes Vito on Blyth Road in Maltby at 11:48 BST on Friday.
The Mercedes driver remained at the scene and has assisted police with inquiries, according to South Yorkshire Police.
The woman's family have been informed.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the collision or has footage of the crash to come forward.
