Former police station could be turned into homes

A former police station could soon be converted into two homes.
Subject to approval from Wiltshire Council planners, Gainsborough Group Construction Ltd (GGCL) hopes to convert now redundant Tidworth Police Station back into two residential properties.
In the application, GGCL said it was “difficult to see how it could be utilised for any other purpose, whether that be community-based or commercial.”
It added the proposal is the “most common-sense option for the site.”
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the site has not had a staffed walk-in service for several years and has only been used for administrative purposes.
Should the council approve the proposal, the building will be returned to its original residential use.
A date has not be set for the plans to be considered by the council.
