A 36-year-old man has been arrested following a police investigation into suspected intimidation in Newtownards, County Down.
Detectives were investigating seven reports of shotgun cartridges being left on the doorsteps of properties in Weavers Grange.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and possessing ammunition without a certificate.
He remains in custody.
There has been ongoing feuding between loyalist factions in the area for more than a year.
The police have said the targeted properties either had new tenants, or people were about to move in.
“By setting these cartridges at the doors of these properties, this is a clear attempt to intimidate and exert control over others through threats,” the police said.
“There has been enough unrest in this area and this must stop.”
