Peterborough United and BBC agree commentary deal

BBC local radio commentators are returning to League One Peterborough United after a season on the sidelines.
United, known as "The Posh", took commentary "in-house" a year ago and ended a commentary contract with the BBC.
Now the club has announced a new two-year deal with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
Dawn Gore, the club's chief executive, said she was "delighted" with the development.
The club said it was "pleased to announce" that a two-year deal had been agreed with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
BBC commentators Ben Stevenson and Gaby Zakuani will be at Posh’s Sky Bet League One, Emirates FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors fixtures, it added.
The club said during the 2023-2024 season, the "place to listen" to commentary of Posh games was through the "subscription service Posh+". A feed had also been available via PCR FM.
Mrs Gore said she recognised that some supporters were disappointed when the BBC stopped commentating.
"When we made the decision to bring our commentary in-house, there were a number of reasons behind that, but we recognise that some supporters were disappointed that they couldn’t listen to our games via the BBC," she said.
“When I was appointed into the role of chief executive, I had a look at all aspects of the business, and we felt it was the right time to explore options around commentary.
"I am delighted that we have been able to agree a deal for the next two seasons with the BBC and look forward to strengthening that partnership."
Terry Underhill, the executive editor at BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, added: “Having recently joined BBC Radio Cambridgeshire it was clear that both Posh and the radio station missed working together on the commentary and I am delighted to have agreed the rights.
"I’m sure our listeners will enjoy this listening to Posh next season.”
