An artist will live with the Team GB athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and document their medal successes with daily paintings.

Ben Mosley, who lives in Halling, is the artist behind the mural in Carnaby Street, London, depicting every British medal won at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

He will be based at Team GB’s accommodation and paint in real time throughout each day, adding athletes to the canvas as the medals roll in.

“It’s a terrific honour to represent my country through these paintings which hopefully can become a bit of history,” said Mosley.

He has been the official Team GB artist for four years, however Covid restrictions prevented him from travelling to Tokyo, which is why he painted the mural in Carnaby Street instead.

"This will be the first time I go out to where the event is actually held and share space with the athletes inside Team GB House,” he said.

“My task once out in Paris is to produce one large canvas every three-to-four days to capture events as they happen. The canvases will be displayed inside Team GB House."

The paintings will be exhibited before being sold and auctioned with 60% of the proceeds going towards Team GB.
