A new development is set to be built on the south eastern edge of Devizes.

An application for 33 new homes and 73 parking spaces has been approved by Wiltshire Council.

NHS Property Services planned for the buildings to include two-storey terrace houses and semi-detached pairs.

"New housing on the site will respond positively to the urban edge setting and form an attractive addition to the south east of Devizes," they said.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the site is to be on land north of Marshall Road.

There have been issues raised by the public such as the potential for increased traffic and the impact on the biodiversity of the area.

However, these were addressed on a website which had the proposal amended.

Now the application has been approved, details of reserved matters of the proposal are expected to follow.
