Man dies in early hours road crash

A 25-year-old man died in a crash on the A66 in Teesside in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Joseph Potts, from Middlesbrough, died at the scene after the white BMW 1 Series he was driving crashed on the Great Burdon roundabout at 00:20 BST.

Mr Potts was travelling towards Darlington from Middlesbrough and was the only person in the car, Durham Police said.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the crash or has a dash cam footage to come forward.
