A man has died after a crash involving a van and a lorry.

He was one of four people who were injured in the collision on the A371, near Wincanton in Somerset, earlier.

Emergency services were called at around 05:20 BST to reports of the crash near Bratton Seymour.

Officers are trying to trace the man's family, who are abroad. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, he is believed to be in his 20s.

The other three men who were hurt are all in their 30s and their families have been contacted, police said.

One of them remains in hospital with serious injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Another remains in hospital for observation and a fourth has been discharged following treatment.

The lorry driver involved in the crash was described as "shocked but unhurt".

Avon and Somerset Police asked anyone who saw the collision, or who may have information or dashcam footage that could help the investigation, to get in touch.

The road reopened at about 16:00.
