Boy arrested after woman 'kidnapped' from home

A woman was found on the street bare-foot and banging on doors for help after reportedly being taken from her home.
The victim, in her 20s, was spotted in Bilton and was given a lift to safety by a concerned member of the public, Warwickshire Police said.
She was allegedly snatched from her home on Cornwallis Road, Rugby, and driven erratically in a white VW Polo at speed and at times off the road between 14:00 BST and 16:00 on 18 August.
A boy, 17, has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and threats to kill.
The teenager was also arrested on suspicion of assault, taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, criminal damage, false imprisonment, intentional strangulation, coercive and controlling behaviour, possession of an offensive weapon, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence.
Police believe the Polo may also have been involved in collisions and sustained damage.
The woman is said to have escaped from the car on foot in the Bilton area near Cunningham Way.
She has been identified and is being supported by officers, the force said.
Anyone who witnessed the harrowing ordeal or has CCTV or doorbell footage of a woman dressed in black, with no shoes and knocking on doors asking for help has been urged to contact police.
