Worldwide entrants at town's beatbox festival

A beatbox and loopstation contest which attracted artists from around the world was described as "an inspiring gathering".
Competitors showcased their vocal skills at the New Urban Era (Nue) Beatbox finals at the Atik Nightclub in Tamworth, Staffordshire, on Saturday.
“To have so many people from all over the world come together in the spirit of beatbox culture, in a small town like Tamworth, is what Nue is all about," organiser ABH Beatbox said.
UK beatboxer Epos won the solo contest. Martin Benati of France won the loopstation category, where competitors record and replay sounds in real time, with last year's winner 17-year-old Smonal, also of France, in second place.
"It was an inspiring gathering of artists and fans, and we couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere,” ABH Beatbox said.
Meanwhile, Simple-Sound claimed the inaugural title in the new Meme Battle, which organisers said was a "humorous spoof" which brought different creativity and fun to the stage.
Former UK female beatboxing champion Bellatrix, Australian beatboxer Codfish and KBA from Denmark headlined the event as judges and performers.
Next year marks the fifth anniversary of the event, with organisers planning to mark the occasion with an "even bigger" celebration.
Nue began a varied programme of arts events earlier this year after securing about £56,000 of funding.
