Events to mark Bonfire Night in Surrey will begin over the weekend.

With the main event taking place on Tuesday, many community groups and organisations are holding firework displays from 1 November.

Some will also feature torchlit processions and funfairs.

We have rounded up some of the biggest events happening in Surrey in 2024.

Several are taking place on Friday, including Godalming's town fireworks at the Rugby Club in Guildford Road, with a procession beginning at 18:00 GMT.

Esher Rugby Club will also be holding a display on Friday.

Most of the weekend's displays are taking place on Saturday.

One of the largest is taking place at Chiddingfold, with some roads in the village being closed between 15:00 and 22:00.

Gates open for Guildford's fireworks fiesta in Stoke Park from 17:00, with live music from 18:00 and the main display at 20:30.

The Kempton Park fireworks will also feature a funfair, but tickets must be booked in advance.

The Brockham bonfire claims to offer "one of the largest firework displays in Surrey", with roads through the village closed from 17:30, ahead of the torchlight procession from the Green.

On Sunday displays are being planned for Cleves School in Weybridge and Colets in Thames Ditton.
