Man dies in hospital after being hit by van

A man has died in hospital after he was hit by a van.

The pedestrian, in his 90s, was struck by a black Renault Traffic van on the A53 Leek Road in Endon, Staffordshire, at about 12:30 BST on Thursday.

He was taken to hospital but has since died from his injuries, Staffordshire Police confirmed.

The van's driver remained at the scene and has been assisting officers with their inquiries, a force spokesperson added.

Police have urged anyone who might have dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage from the time of the crash to get in touch.
