A caravan site that has operated for more than 60 years has sought permission to install a pool and gym at its site.
Park Holidays has applied to Cumberland Council to build a new reception, gym and indoor pool at Glendale Holiday Park in Port Carlisle, Cumbria.
The company, which recently bought the site, said facilities were "very limited and outdated" and it wanted the park to attract more visitors to encourage the "growth of the local tourism".
In planning documents, it added: "In line with the expansion of the park's amenities, there will be an increased demand for staff to manage its operations year-round, thereby generating numerous employment prospects for local residents."
The facilities would be housed in a new single storey building next to the main entrance and would be designed to "fit in to the surroundings", the company said.
They would include space for a launderette and a shop suitable for the size of the site.
The park, which opened in 1959, includes a mixture of static caravans and touring and camping pitches.
Cumberland Council is considering the plans and a consultation on the project is open until 21 November.
