Man charged with murder after woman, 42, stabbed

A 59-year-old man has been charged with murder after a 42-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Brixton, south London.

Robert Sabat, of no fixed abode, was also charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon and appeared before Croydon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. He was due at the Old Bailey on Friday.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 17:00 GMT on Monday following reports of a disturbance at a residential property at McCormick House, Tulse Hill.

Inside the property a woman was found dead with multiple stab wounds. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
