CCTV appeal after cash stolen in armed robbery

Anyone who recognises the man caught on CCTV has been asked to contact South Yorkshire Police

A gun-wielding man who threatened staff at a shop in Barnsley before fleeing with an amount of cash is being sought by police.

It happened at about 20:00 BST on Wednesday at a shop on Keresforth Road, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Armed officers were called to the scene and conducted searches in the area, but the suspect remains at large.

Police have issued CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to, and anyone who recognises the man in the picture has been asked to get in touch with the force.

Anyone else with information about what happened has also been asked to contact South Yorkshire Police.
