Ex-police officer guilty of child sex offence

A former police officer from Staffordshire has pleaded guilty to a sexual offence involving a child.
Ryan Clinton, 30, of Tamworth, admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Staffordshire Police said the offence happened in 2023 when he was a police officer with the force.
He appeared at Cannock Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, and will be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court at a future date.
