A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder investigation.

Thames Valley Police officers were called by South Central Ambulance Service to a stabbing in James Wolfe Road in Oxford, at about 19:00 BST on 20 July.

The victim, in his 20s, sustained serious injuries that required treatment but he has since been discharged from hospital.

A 24-year-old man from Birmingham has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

Det Insp George Atkinson called the arrest a "significant development" in the force's investigation, but appealed to anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time of the incident to get in touch.
