Staffordshire Police said the drugs were found during a traffic stop

Police found cocaine worth an estimated £96,000 during a traffic stop on the M6 motorway.

A Kia Sportage was stopped at southbound junction 12 near Gailey shortly after 11:00 BST on Saturday, said Staffordshire Police, adding it had charged a man in connection.

Mark Welstead, 44, of Harwich, Essex, is accused of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

He appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday where he was bailed before his next appearance, set for Stafford Crown Court on 28 October.
