Community hall is ravaged by fire after outside blaze spreads

A fire service believes the blaze started in the shed/decking area of Burrsville Public Hall, that spread into the main building

A community hall has been left badly damaged after a fire that is believed to have started in a shed or decking area outside quickly spread.
Crews were called to Gorse Lane, Clacton, at 01:12 GMT, after residents spotted a fire at Burrsville Public Hall, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said.
It was put out by 02:30.
Nick Singleton, station manager, said: "Unfortunately, the roof, doors and windows are badly damaged and our hearts go out to everyone who uses the hall."

He praised firefighters "who did a fantastic job of limiting how much damage it caused to the building".
Its cause has been recorded as undetermined, the force added.
