Residents urged to check new waste collection times

Residents have been urged to check their upcoming waste collection ahead of changes which come into effect next week.
More than 26,000 households in the Cotswold District Council area will have a new collection day or week, or both, from 24 June.
The council said the change is part of its commitment to deliver greater efficiency within its waste and recycling service and save the taxpayer money.
Chief executive Robert Weaver said new waste calendars have been posted to residents.
'Minor' delays possible
"However all households, even those that are not changing, may find that crews get to their property earlier or later in the day than they are used to, due to the new routes," Mr Weaver said.
“While we will be working hard to minimise any disruption to residents, with such widespread changes taking place there is potential for some minor delays as crews familiarise themselves with their new routes."
Cotswold District Council said the new collection rounds are projected to deliver cost-savings of £375,000 in the current financial year for the taxpayer, with annual savings of £500,000 thereafter.
"We’d like to thank residents in advance for their patience during the transition and while the changes settle down.
"While we do not anticipate that collections will be missed, should residents find that their collection hasn’t taken place as expected, it will help crews return promptly if these can be reported to us online as soon as possible after 16:00 BST on the day of collection, and by no later than two working days," he added.
