The public are being asked for views on how best to spend £20m of government funding to improve Bedworth.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, on behalf of the Believe in Bedworth Neighbourhood Board, have asked local charity Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action (CAVA) to undertake community consultation to refresh the area's regeneration plan.

The Warwickshire town has been identified as one of the government's 75 areas to receive an investment of £20m over the next 10 years through its Plan for Neighbourhoods programme.

The local CAVA has been asked to talk directly with residents about what is important to them and the change they would like to see in their neighbourhoods.

The group has launched a survey to collect views, and is offering the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher to anyone that completes the survey by Friday, 3 October.

The team will also be out and about at events, community venues and businesses, speaking to residents about how they feel the £20m should be used.

Paper copies of the survey can also be requested by emailing bib@wcava.org.uk, and if residents would like the team to come and talk to a bigger group then that can also be arranged.

Nicky King, portfolio holder for business and regeneration at the council, said: "We want as many people as possible to get involved and make their voices heard.

"This is an important time for Bedworth, and we want to do our upmost to get the plan right for the people who live and work in the town.

"We have appointed CAVA as a trusted partner to carry out this important consultation work and will ensure to keep the people of Bedworth updated on the suggestions put forward to ensure a cohesive plan for the future."
