College 'turnaround' sees improvement notice lifted
- Published
A college has had a government warning formally removed after making improvements.
Moulton College, external, near Northampton, was issued with a financial notice to improve (FNTI) in 2017 by the Department of Education.
But seven years on, the measure has been lifted because of the reintroduction of apprenticeships and and an expansion to the college curriculum including a range of T-levels.
Alicia Bruce, chief operating officer at Moulton College, said "great strides" had been made to address the previous issues.
A FNTI is a public letter that instructs an academy trust, college, or higher education institution on how to improve its financial situation.
David McVean, chair of governors, said the further education college had "created a turnaround that very few thought possible".
Mr McVean added the college now had "an extremely bright future."
