Three men charged following armed robbery attempt

Three men have been charged following an attempted armed robbery over the weekend.

Gloucestershire Police said officers were called to Tennyson Road in Cheltenham shortly after 19.25 BST on Saturday, with reports that a homeowner had been threatened with a firearm by a group demanding money.

Jamie Curran, 34, of Cambridge Avenue in Cheltenham, and Nathan Edwards, 35, of no fixed abode, have both been charged with offences including attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Jason Marks, 48, of Norfolk Avenue in Cheltenham, was also charged with assisting an offender.

Mr Curran and Mr Edwards were additionally charged with having a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence in connection with the incident.

All three men have been remanded into custody and are due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Four other people, two men and two women, who were also arrested in connection with the incident have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
