A man has been arrested after another man was seriously injured at a property in Telford.
A disturbance at an address on Chiltern Gardens was reported to police at about 06:30 BST.
Emergency crews found the man and took him to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition, West Mercia Police said.
Following a search of the area, officers arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Insp Paul Drury said: "We understand that incidents of this nature, and a large police presence, can be concerning for the public.
“I would like to reassure residents that we believe there is no threat to the wider community and that we have a man in custody in relation to the incident, and are not looking for anyone else."
Increased police patrols are expected to be carried out in the area for some time as inquiries continue, he added.
