Residents in Broomfleet are being warned that a section of road will be closed for three weeks.
Common Road, between Wallingfen Lane and Jarratt Hill Lane, will be shut from 6 October and a diversion will be in place.
Resurfacing and structural work will be carried out by East Riding of Yorkshire Council at a cost of £190,000.
People will still be able to access their properties during the construction period.
Councillor Paul West, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "Thank you to residents and drivers in this area for bearing with us while we carry out this essential work."
