Kasabian singer Serge Pizzorno says the band are ready to put on the "most unbelievable show" Leicester has ever seen.
The indie group, which formed in the city, take to the stage at Victoria Park on Saturday night.
Titled Summer Solstice II, the gig comes a week after the band's surprise performance at Glastonbury.
An estimated 35,000 people are expected to travel to venue for Kasabian's homecoming show, according to the city council.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leicester on Wednesday, vocalist Pizzorno said he was "ready" for the big night.
"I'm absolutely ready to get out there and just put on the most unbelievable show the city's ever seen," he said.
The show will be the band's first major gig in the city in 10 years and follows the rockers' previous Summer Solstice show at the same park in 2014.
On why the band is returning to Leicester, Pizzorno said: "You know how we feel about this place.
"It's exactly why we want to create these massive nights for this city.
"We didn't go down the M1 - we stayed here and it is just about memories.
"It's just one of those things that, if you're there, these things are imprinted and they never leave you.
"If you're going through something in a few years and you need a little pick me up, you can just take yourself back into that night that we all spent together.
"That's why we do these nights."
Leicester City Council said road closures and restrictions would be in place between 06:00 BST on Saturday to midnight to ensure the "smooth running of the event".
Kaiser Chiefs will be a support act at the show.
Gates are set to open at 15:30 and the council has advised fans to arrive before 20:00 "as queues at this time could be in excess" of an hour.
