Seven people were arrested after a man was stabbed in the leg in a street fight.
Merseyside Police said a group attacked a 31-year-old man at the junction of Hold Road and Edge Lane in Kensington, Liverpool, just after 22:00 GMT on Thursday.
Three men, aged 29, 19 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray, and an 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, affray and possession of a prohibited weapon in a public place.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault, and two men, aged 31 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of affray.
Ch Insp Paul Rannard said: " We received numerous calls in relation to the disturbance and some of the callers were distressed by what they had witnessed."
He added: "We are determined to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
"While we do this, it's vital that people avoid speculation, especially on social media, which could unnecessarily increase anxiety and fear in the community."
Police have appealed for any dashcam, ring bell or CCTV footage of the incident
