A 62-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police say

A man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash, police have said.

The 62-year-old was hit by a silver Range Rover as he crossed Adlington Road, in Sheffield, at about 14:20 GMT on Saturday.

South Yorkshire Police said the driver then left the scene.

The victim remains in a stable condition in hospital and inquiries are ongoing, officers said.

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
