A panel of "inspiring" female speakers will share their industry journeys at an International Women's Day event in Shropshire.

Among the motivational speakers are fire chiefs Sam Burton and Karen Gowreesunker, who will talk about their careers with Shropshire Fire Service.

Voice coach Emma Alston will talk about overcoming anxieties while Army veteran Stacey Morley will discus gender equality issues in the military.

The event will be held at Park House Hotel in Shifnal on 7 March between 10:00 and 14:00 GMT.

People around the world have marked International Women's Day on 8 March for more than a century.

It grew out of a labour movement advocating for women's rights before becoming an international event.

The Shifnal programme, run by Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, will also feature its chief executive Ruth Ross.

Shropshire-based presenter and motivational speaker Sian Brennan-Todd will also be in attendance.

Kelly Riedel, the Chamber's events and training manager, said last year's event sold-out with 100 people coming together for an "inspiring and thought-provoking experience".

She added: "This year's event promises to be equally inspiring, with engaging speakers, dynamic conversations and opportunities to connect with like-minded people across our community.

"Whether you're here to learn, share, or simply be inspired, this event is designed to empower and leave a lasting impact."
