Two people have been charged after a family who went missing in the south of Edinburgh were found.

The family - a father, mother, two daughters and a son - sparked concern after last being seen about 12:30 on Thursday on Captain's Road in the Gracemount area of the city.

A 32-year-old man and 28-year-old woman are expected to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

Police Scotland thanked the public for sharing its initial appeal for information.

A force spokesperson for said: "Following our inquiries to locate a family last seen in the Captain's Road area of Edinburgh on Thursday, 16 January, 2025, we are pleased to confirm the family has been traced safe and well."
