Two men rescued from sinking boat on Broads

Two men have been rescued from a sinking yacht on the Norfolk Broads.

Hemsby Lifeboat said it was called to Wroxham Broad at about 20:00 GMT on Thursday to a boat in trouble that was taking in water.

Dan Hurd, the coxswain of the lifeboat team, said the pair were "pretty shook up" but were otherwise OK.

"It was a well executed call out," he added.

An HM Coastguard helicopter, as well as coastguard teams from Bacton and Winterton, also attended.

Mr Hurd said the boat's engine had cut out and water had to be pumped out of the vessel.
