Man appears in court over north Belfast stabbing

A man has appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in north Belfast on 23 August.

Conneth Johnston, 25, with an address at Cliftonville Avenue in Belfast spoke only to confirm he understood the charges.

Police told the court they could connect the accused with the charges.

Mr Johnston has also been charged with aggravated burglary with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

There was no application for bail and the case is due to be heard again on 23 September.
