An investigation is under way after the death of a child in County Donegal involving machinery, RTÉ has reported.

A young boy was pronounced dead at the scene in An Clochán Liath on Friday evening.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) told BBC News NI they were "aware of the fatal incident and has launched an investigation".

A post-mortem examination will take place in Letterkenny University Hospital and a file is being prepared for the Coroner's Court.
