£500 reward offered to help catch graffiti culprit

A £500 reward has been offered to help catch the person responsible for a “rampant increase” in graffiti.
South Holland District Council has offered the cash incentive in a joint venture with Lincolnshire Police after a spate of graffiti tagging in Spalding in recent months.
The council's community safety team and police have been investigating the incidents and believe it is the work of one person.
Councillor Anthony Casson, portfolio holder for public protection, hoped the reward would help catch “one of the most prolific offenders in the local area”.
'Send clear message'
Mr Casson said: “As a council we have a zero-tolerance approach to graffiti, which degrades our towns and villages across the district.
“Our officers work hard to get it cleaned up wherever possible, but this reward will help send a clear message - we won't stand for graffiti here in South Holland."
The cash reward will be given if information provided results in a successful prosecution.
Sgt Corder, from the South Holland neighbourhood policing team, added: “We recognise that graffiti is impacting the wider community and as part of the South Holland Policing Plan our aim is to tackle anti-social behaviour.
“Lincolnshire Police is taking this seriously and will pursue all lines of inquiry.”
