Coventry City Council says it has not given approval for The Big Jump Inflatable Park to take place in Hearsall Common

Families have been urged not to buy tickets for an inflatables event advertised in Coventry, with the city council saying the venue has not been booked and would not be going ahead.

The Big Jump Inflatable Park had been advertised online at Hearsall Common from 26 August to 2 September, with tickets costing £9.

The city council said trading standards officers were aware and were looking into the event. The online ticket site has since been taken down.

The organiser, The Big Jump, has declined the chance to comment.

Commenting on its own Facebook post, the council advised anyone who believed they had been a victim of a scam to report it to Citizens Advice.

A similar occurrence by the same company was reported in Southend., external

Parents were left feeling "very foolish" after buying tickets for an inflatable park event which was also not approved by Southend Council with a warning being issued by trading standards.

"The Big Jump - Inflatable Park has not been given approval and, as far as we are aware, is not planned to take place.

"We have not been approached about a booking for the common.

"Our Trading Standard Team is aware. Please do not be tempted to book tickets."
