Comedian calls for Jersey venue for his show

A British comedian has called for a suitable venue to be made available so performers like himself can come to Jersey.
Dom Joly has performed three times in Guernsey recently, but said he had been unable to make it to Jersey because of a lack of available venues.
Speaking to the BBC Radio Jersey Breakfast Show, Mr Joly said: "Jersey, please get a venue because I really want to come and do a gig."
The Jersey Opera House used to host performers like this, but it has been closed since 2020. The government hopes it will reopen in Easter next year after it allocated £11.5m to refurbish the Grade II listed building.
'Will do anything'
Mr Joly, who is known for his comedy series Trigger Happy TV, said: "I have a gig ready to go and I will fly there (Jersey) tomorrow."
But he also joked: "I'm not sure I could fill the Opera House because I'm not a traditional stand up.
"So I will do anything, like if you've got a village hall then I will come over and do it."
Breakfast Presenter Jenny Mullin told the comedian Jersey Arts Centre might be able to host his show over a week or so.
"Genuinely, I would love to do that," Mr Joly replied.
Mr Joly was also speaking to BBC Radio Jersey about Christmas Jumper Day, which was on Thursday and raises money and awareness for the charity, Save the Children.
He is an ambassador for the charity and the campaign has raised £37m since it started in 2012.
Mr Joly said: "It's about being silly, but most importantly, it's about raising money for Save the Children."
