The new Condor Islander service has been cancelled due to a technical issue.

On Monday, the first passenger service was going to launch between Guernsey and Jersey, with the start date already delayed from Sunday 15 October.

The vessel will take passengers from Portsmouth to Guernsey and Jersey and also offer an overnight crossing six days a week.

Passengers were moved to an alternative sailing.

Condor Ferries said the technical issue emerged when the vessel was being "readied for service".

It said Tuesday's service would operate to both islands.

"We regret the inconvenience caused," a spokesman said.
